Dental Implants in
Tampa
Losing your teeth can force you to give up the foods you like, avoid smiling, make it difficult to speak normally, and you may even see changes in the shape of your face. Fortunately, with dental implants, you can get permanent replacement teeth that are fixed to your jawbone allowing you to eat, speak and smile just like you did before tooth loss.

What is a Dental Implant?
A dental implant is a titanium screw that we place into your jawbone through surgical means. Once in place, the implant will serve as an artificial tooth root. Several months after the surgery, we will then attach a natural-looking tooth crown to the implant to complete the procedure.
What are the Benefits of Dental Implants?
-
-
Improved appearance
The tooth crown attached to the implant looks and feels like a natural tooth. Without any missing teeth, you can flash you confident smile, once again. -
Improved Comfort
As they are designed to fuse with bone, implants become a permanent part of you. They eliminate the discomfort that usually comes with removable dentures. They allow you to speak and eat without pain and the worry that the teeth might slip. -
Durability
Dental implants are strong, stable, and durable, but on occasion, they will have to be re-tightened due to normal wear. However, with good care, many implants last a lifetime.

Can Anyone Get Dental Implants?
If you’re healthy enough to undergo an oral surgery, you may be a candidate for a dental implant procedure in our Tampa clinic. But, in addition to that, there are other requirements you should meet:
- Healthy gums and sufficient bone density to hold and support the implant
- Commitment to proper oral hygiene and regular visits to the dentist
- With no uncontrolled chronic disorders such as diabetes, which may affect your ability to heal
- With no smoking habit or willing to stop smoking during the entire dental implant process
What Does Getting Dental Implants Involve?
The entire procedure may require numerous dental visits over several months. First, we will take impressions of your jaw and teeth to assess if there are sufficient bone and gum tissue for the implant. Then, we’ll perform the surgery to place the implant into the bone socket of your missing tooth. The healing process for this part may take six to 12 weeks.
During your healing process, we will proceed with getting your artificial tooth crown made so it will be ready for attachment once the implant has successfully bonded to the jawbone. Then, using a small connector post or an abutment, we will securely attach the crown to the implant. After we complete the procedure, we will provide specific care instructions to help you maintain your new implant.

My father was in town for my sister’s wedding and had one of his front fillings come out two days before the wedding. Dr. Cesar Chilmaza was able to get him last minute and did an amazing job. My father said that he did a better job fixing it than the original filling! Not only did he do a great job, he and his staff we so friendly and knowledgeable and did everything in their power to help take care of him. Thanks to Dr. Cesar my sister’s wedding photos won’t be a disaster!

Cesar is amazingly kind and patient with my endless questions. I’m ridiculously terrified of the dentist and they somehow understand my fears while gently coaxing me to follow the treatment plan they recommend. They’re also open evenings for those of us still working. Simply put, they’re quite delightful!
